Training -
AED owner or acquiring entity must ensure expected users receive AHA, ARC or equivalent CPR/AED training as approved by the Tennessee emergency medical services board.

Medical Oversight - Department of Health defines rules for
AED programs.
Device Maintenance/Testing - Per manufacturer's guidelines, maintain records of maintenance and testing.
Event Tracking/Reporting - Use must be reported to local
EMS 911 dispatch, supervising physician and AED program admin.
Notification Requirements - Register the existence and location of device with local
EMS upon installation. Provide a copy of AED program plan.
Good Samaritan Protection - Civil immunity is provided for any person who uses an
AED to render emergency care including medical personnel, rescue squad members, trainers and the AED Program Entity.
